Gutter and downpipe services you can ask about
Mel One provides gutter cleaning, minor repairs to leaking joints and supports, replacement of a single gutter section, downpipe repair or replacement, fascia or board-behind-gutter repair, removal and cleanup, and painting.
New gutter and downpipe installation can also be quoted after checking the roof edge, drainage layout and access. The agreed scope identifies any roof-plumbing work requiring an appropriately licensed trade.
Each item is agreed separately. These services are not automatically included together in the same quote.
Will cleaning solve the problem, or does something need repairing?
VICSES storm-preparation guidance tells Victorian property owners to keep gutters, downpipes and drains clear of debris. That preventive step is separate from diagnosing a leak or deciding that damaged guttering needs repair or replacement.
Cleaning removes leaves and other material that can stop water draining. Repair work deals with damaged joints, loose supports or damaged sections. These are different jobs.
Overflowing water alone does not tell you which one is needed. The gutter, its supports and the downpipe need to be considered together.
Does one leaking section mean all the gutters need replacing?
Not necessarily. The condition of the gutter and the surrounding sections matters. A local repair and a replacement section are different options; widespread damage may need a larger job.
Tell us where the problem is and whether the same area has been repaired before. The proposed work should explain which part is being treated and why.
What affects the price?
The amount of damaged gutter, the material, the height of the house and safe access all affect the work. A downpipe problem or damage to the board behind the gutter can add a separate part to the job.
Before booking, check what the quote includes: cleaning, repair or replacement parts, removal of old material, and any painting or other finishing. These are not automatically included together.
What should I tell you?
Start with your Melbourne suburb, where the water appears, whether it happens during rain and when you need the work considered. Tell us if the house has one or more storeys, and about any access restrictions. The team confirms coverage, availability and any attendance timing after reviewing those details.
Photos are helpful, but you can start without them. This form does not upload photos; you can email them to melone.maintenance6@gmail.com instead. Take them only from a safe position on the ground. Do not climb onto the roof or use a ladder just to photograph the problem.
Not sure whether the leak is from the roof or the gutter? Tell us what you can see. You do not need to diagnose it yourself.
